Memories.. Data.. Information.. Destroyed..

Just as i was almost done with revising our documentation for our Senior Year Project, my freakin’ flash disk went could not be detected. No light, no respond from PC, no anything. I don’t know what the hell happend?! The only thing i could remember, I safely removed it because i want to copy an installer from my friend (because we had an overnight stay for our Thesis), and then suddenly when i plugged it in again, nothing was detected. I thought it was just one of my USB ports not functioning well because I admit, some ports don’t work properly. So when I plugged it in again in my friend’s PC, it could not be detected. I transferred it to another PC and still no detection found. I already tried dismantling it but still there was no detection. I don’t know what happened. It was my dad who gave me the flash disk. I guess the only thing left to do is to check whether it still has a warranty so that it could either be replaced or repaired.

I don’t care about the flash disk being destroyed, I’m more concerned about the data and information inside it. It contained the most important data from my academic subjects for this semester and I couldn’t bear not having a copy of every lab exercises, projects, and assignments. I could not bear the thought of losing the things that I compiled and took care. It’s as if I lost my child tonight.

Now, there’s nothing I could do about it. The documentation that I revised was there also. so now, I’m gonna have to start all over again. I couldn’t stop a drop or two of my tears falling..

Things/options that I could possibly do:

  • Buy a new flash disk
  • Start all-over from the old documentation of our thesis
  • Move on, what’s been done has been done
